Description
Rasbora brigittae is a fish that lives in aquariums of amateurs and professionals. It is the smallest in the carp family. Mature individuals reach about 2 to 3 cm in length. The fish are nimble and quick.

Rasbora fish are small in size 13-22 mm, and Boraras brigittae is the smallest of them, and the smallest fish belonging to the huge carp family.

The body of the fish is orange-red, as the fish matures, the color becomes more saturated, males are somewhat brighter than females, their bright red color is deeper, the fins are red with a black border, the fins of females are pink or orange. The dominant male is the brightest of all, the other individuals are a little paler. Bright differences in the dominant male occur only after the first year of life. All fish have a solid dark green line along the lateral line. Due to its small size and bright coloring, the fish is often called a bright mosquito.

On average, boraras brigittae will grow to only 2.5 cm.

Natural habitat:

The fish's homeland is the southwest of Borneo. It lives in black waters, streams and rivers that feed swampy forest areas.
