Boraras merah is a schooling and peaceful fish. It is suitable for keeping in small aquariums with shrimp. Like all schooling fish, the merah rasbora loves free space. The body of the fish is elongated, slightly flattened on the sides. The tail is two-lobed. The color varies from silver to amber with a large number of variations. It is very similar to the brigitta rasbora, but it does not have bright spots on the caudal fin. The merah rasbora gets along with all peaceful fish. They need to be kept in a school of 5 individuals. They live in the upper layers of water. You can use snags, pots, stones as shelters. The fish are omnivorous. You can give them dry, live, frozen food.
